Camryn Manheim joins 'Extant' cast

US actress Camryn Manheim has been cast as a series regular in the new small-screen drama, "Extant," CBS announced Thursday. The serialized mystery thriller is to premiere this summer. It stars Halle Berry as Molly, an astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history. Manheim will play Sam Barton, Molly's best friend and closest confidant. Her credits include "Ghost Whisperer," "The Practice" and "Ally McBeal." Source: UPI
