The Egyptian actor Mahmoud Hemeda has confirmed that he will return to journalism, after an absence of 10 years. In an interview with Arabstoday, Hemeda said: “My love of art led me to establish a magazine called 'al-Fan al-Sabea' (The Seventh Art). Its headquarters were in Talaat Harb street in downtown Cairo. Later, I closed it down because it was not a suitable period in light of the low quality newspapers and magazines that were circulating at that time, so I decided to give up until the atmosphere became more conducive." Hemeda added: “This magazine was distinctive and unique. It was only about cinema and its history." He went on to say that other publications tried to copy his style and format but, he said, "they did not live up to the quality of mine”.
