Rascal Flatts' performance of "Rewind" at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards felt a little off to many country music fans, who questioned whether the band had been lip-syncing. Rascal Flatts didn't even try to pretend that they actually sang that song.— Country Music Quotes (@Country___Lyric) April 7, 2014 On Monday, the band took to Twitter and Facebook to clear the air. They admitted to lip-syncing the song because their lead singer had lost his voice and they didn't want to cancel their ACM gig. "After having performed several shows earlier in the week, Gary [LeVox] lost his voice," the band said on Twitter. "So, instead of canceling our commitment to do the show, we made a last minute decision to lip-sync." Rascal Flatts chalked the poor performance up to lip-syncing inexperience. "We've never done it before, and we're obviously not very good at it. We look forward to singing live again in the very near future!" the band wrote. From: UPI
