Sabri honoured by Om Kolthoum role

Tunisian actress Hend Sabri said she did not accept or reject the role of Om Kolthoum in the television series “Maddah El Kamar” (Moon Chanter). In her statement to Arabstoday Sabri said: “I did not receive the script, and I was not approached by anyone regarding the role. I only knew I was considered to play Om Kolthoum when I read it in the newspapers.” She added: “I adore Om Kolthoum, and it is an honour to be considered for this television series.” “Madah El Kamar” is a biographical series about the musician Baligh Hamdi, played by Amr Wakeed. The series is written by Mohamed Al Rafai and directed by Magdi Ahmed Ali.
