Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun revealed that she wants “great love” fit for her overwhelming emotions, saying: “I believe I experienced love, but there are feelings and experiences that I haven’t gone through or felt yet, and I look forward to experiencing those.” In an interview with Sayidaty magazine, Hassoun stated that she chooses songs that reflect her personal life, thus presenting songs similar to ones made by Aznavour, Tony Braxton, and Mariah Carey. Hassoun stood out in the Stars Auction organised by Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in Dubai, last Monday, which was joined by a large number of celebrities. The event was attended by Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, managing director of the center, and Mohamed Bin Juma Al Maktoum, member of Board of Directors. Hassoun sang in the opening ceremony and succeeded in grabbing the attention of the attendees who cheered for her. The auction consisted of rare personal items from famous personalities. Hassoun donated a gold accessory she wore in one of her concerts, and bought from the auction a belly-dancing outfit donated by Fifi Abdo, which Abdo wore in her last TV series. She also bought Egyptian actress Safia Al-Omari’s hat which she wore while casting the acclaimed TV series ‘Layali Al-Helmia’. Officials from the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre had stated that the proceeds from the auction, which reached two million dirhams, would be used to expand the centre and maintain dedicated facilities for children with special needs. Shatha Hassoun visited Rashic Center on Sunday, where she sang and played with the children who were excited to see her.
