
Traditions and habits in the Yemeni community were one of the major challenges that faced me during the beginning of her career as an actress, said Miss Yemen Areej Al Sayed. She added that her family does not artistic background, while her insistence to achieve her dream helped her to overcome the increasing obstacles. She added, in an interview with "Arabs Today", that my family attempted to prevent me from working in this career in a respect to the traditions dominating the Yemeni society and especially the tribe to which they affiliate. She strongly praised the role performed by her father to support her psychologically and financially, as he lived outside the Yemeni environment for a long time. After success, she added, the family changed its position from me and accepted my career and aspiration. She added, "My insistence to achieve my objectives is the secret behind my success. I participated in a number of programs aiming to support tourism in Yemen to underline the bright image of my country and its great history." Regarding her favorite art, she said that she started with personification, while she prefers singing through which she can express herself. She added that she works currently to develop her singing skills through studying music. She expressed her keenness to keep her position as the beautiful image of her country. She described the Yemeni fans as one of the most important fans in the Arab world, saying that she had a lot of plans, while the current critical conditions witnessed in Yemen prevented her.
