Two Guantanamo Bay detainees have been transferred from the controversial US military prison to Ghana, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.
"The Department of Defense announced today the transfer of Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to the government of Ghana," the Pentagon said in a statement.
The transfers bring the prison population down to 105.
