German Chancellor Angela Merkel, speaking ahead of a European Union summit, urged the EU Thursday to "show solidarity" in tackling the continent's refugee crisis.
"Europe needs to show solidarity, anything else would be a failure," she warned, hours ahead of a summit in Brussels on the spiralling migrant crisis.
