A Palestinian driver attempted to run down Israeli police and soldiers at a West Bank checkpoint on Friday but was shot and wounded without causing Israeli casualties, police said. "A Palestinian terrorist... drove at speed toward police and soldiers in an attempt to ram them," a statement said, adding that a guard fired at the car and hit the driver in the leg. The assailant was then placed under arrest. |
