A top Syrian opposition official said Friday that "conditions are not ripe" for a resumption of peace talks set for March 9. "Currently conditions in the country are not ripe for a resumption of negotiations," Riad Hijab, head of Syria's main opposition body, said in Paris, citing continued sieges on cities, lack of access for humanitarian aid and ceasefire violations. |
