The rebel-held east of Syria's Aleppo could be destroyed by year's end if a brutal offensive by government troops and supported by Russia persists, the UN's Syria envoy said Thursday.
"In maximum two months, two and half months the city of eastern Aleppo may be totally destroyed", Staffan de Mistura told reporters in Geneva.
