EU, Cuba sign accord to normalise relations

The EU and Cuba on Monday signed a normalisation accord long blocked by human rights' concerns as one of the world's last Communist-ruled states faces a future without revolutionary icon Fidel Castro. The accord was signed by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, European Union foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini and the 28 EU member states at a ceremony in Brussels capping years of difficult negotiations. |
