France: EU ministers agree to suspend Belarus sanctions

EU foreign ministers agreed Monday to suspend sanctions against Belarus due shortly for renewal after elections won by authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko passed off without incident, France's european affairs minister said.
"We have taken the decision to suspend the sanctions for the next four months but they can be re-instated immediately if that is required," French European Affairs Minister Harlem Desir told reporters.
