German police expected a total of 5,000 refugees to arrive Sunday in the southern state of Bavaria, where 3,000 had entered by early afternoon, a spokesman said.
On Saturday, 8,000 entered Europe's biggest economy, most of them migrants who arrived by train or bus from Hungary and travelled through Austria to Munich, police said.
