
Kazakhstan's incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev
has won re-election with 97.5 percent of the vote in Sunday's ballot, according to
an exit poll, as the country's election commission claimed a record 95.11 percent
turnout.
"Results for the candidates are determined as follows: for Nursultan Nazarbayev --
97.5 percent, for Abelgazy Kusainov -- 0.63 percent, for Turgun Syzdykov -- 1.8
percent," said Yulia Kuchinskaya of the Institute of Democracy research company.
The Central Election Commission is expected to announce the official results early
Monday.
