The governor of Mexico's western state of Michoacan backed off his statement that a gang downed a helicopter carrying police on Tuesday, saying authorities were investigating the crash. "I can't confirm that it was downed. We are doing the investigations," Governor Silvano Aureoles told the Televisa network, hours after writing on Twitter that three officers and the pilot died when their aircraft was "downed" by criminals. |
