Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man who tried to stab a soldier at a checkpoint in annexed east Jerusalem on Saturday, police said in a statement.
Police spokeswoman Louba Samri said the Palestinian, who was not immediately identified, was killed on the spot after he tried to stab the soldier in the Armon Hanetsiv neighbourhood.
