A Palestinian with a screwdriver tried to stab Israeli security forces near the West Bank city of Hebron on Thursday and was shot dead, the Israeli military said, in the second such incident of the day.
"A Palestinian armed with a screwdriver approached a checkpoint near Hebron and attempted to stab security forces," the military said in a statement. "The forces responded to the imminent threat, thwarted the attack and shot the perpetrator, resulting in his death."
