Pope urges Iran to promote political solutions in Middle East

Pope Francis on Tuesday urged Iran to use its "important role" in the Middle East to promote political solutions that could halt terrorism and arms trafficking, the Vatican said.
The pontiff's appeal was made during a 40-minute meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
