US warplanes are striking the Islamic State group in Syria in support of a Turkish military offensive on the Syrian border town of Jarabulus, a US official said on Wednesday.
"Coalition aircraft, specifically US A-10s and F-16s, are currently conducting air strikes in support of Turkish and vetted Syrian opposition operations against ISIL in Jarabulus," he said in a statement, using an alternative acronym for the IS group.
