Victims will be 'disappointed' by Seselj verdict

The Yugoslav war crimes court's chief prosecutor said Thursday that the victims of crimes committed in the Balkans wars "will be disappointed" after radical Serb Vojislav Seselj was acquitted on all counts. "We fully understand that many victims and communities will be disappointed by the Trial Chamber’s judgement," UN prosecutor Serge Brammertz said in a statement, adding his office would review the verdict to see if there are grounds to appeal. Judges at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia found Seselj not guilty on all nine charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. |
