The Paris stock market sank more than five percent at the start of afternoon trading, on investors' worries about the rout in global stock markets over China's slowing economy.
The main CAC 40 index fell 4.08 percent to stand at 4,442.08 points at 1145 (GMT), following a heavy loss of 3.19 percent on Friday.
