Dee Wallace admits she was excited, but nervous about playing Pat, the never-before-seen sister of Luke and Bobbie Spencer on the soap opera General Hospital.
Tony Geary and Jackie Zeman have played the Spencer siblings on the daytime drama for decades, but only recently has the talk of their estranged sister Pat escalated.
"Seriously, when I got the first script, I thought, 'Oh, my gosh, maybe it's not too late for me to get out!' I was scared! It was daunting and I thought, 'My God, surely they are not going to do this in one day,'" Wallace told Soap Opera Digest. "But we did -- and we did it well. I have to tell you, I would never have gotten through it without those wonderful people in that company. They just took me under their wing and showed me the ropes. From Tony to [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini to the casting director, Mark Teschner, everyone was absolutely lovely. I felt like part of the family within half an hour. It's just a beautiful company and it was a wonderful experience for me."
Wallace, 65, has appeared in the films Hansel & Gretel, The Frighteners, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Howling, Cujo and The Stepford Wives. It is unclear when her first GH episode will air on ABC.
