Derek Hough has joined the cast of Nashville.
The 29-year-old professional dancer will appear in a recurring role on season three of the ABC series. Hough will portray Noah West, "a beguiling and disarming" movie star, who is cast in a biopic about a famous country singer. The character and Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) will likely cross paths, as season three opens with a pregnant Barnes heading to Hollywood.
"So excited for @derekhough from @DancingABC to be joining out fantastic cast!" the official Nashville writers Twitter posted Thursday. "Get pumped, #Nashies!! #ABClove."
Hough is best known for his work on ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars. The dancer has appeared on 13 of 18 seasons of the series, and has won the competition with his partner a record five times. The network announced he will return for season 19 on Wednesday.
Nashville added Alexa Vega and Brette Taylor to the cast earlier this week. Dancing with the Stars season 19 premieres September 15, while Nashville season three premieres September 24.
