Egypt and Sudan on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange expertise on fighting desert locusts and to prevent the insects from crossing the border between the two countries.
This was announced in a statement issued at the end of a visit made by Egypt's Agriculture Minister Salah Helal to Sudan.
The two sides also agreed to boost the inter-trade and facilitate the flow of exports between the two countries.
Helal and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi left Khartoum for Cairo after a several days' visit to Sudan, during which they met with their Sudanese counterparts.
