
Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazy reviewed on Sunday his ministry accomplishments in the field of reservoirs and major barrages built nationwide in the FY 2014/2015.
The Reservoirs sector with the ministry has implemented a package of maintenance and renovation work at a number of barrages nationwide to upgrade their efficiency, the minister said.
The cost of renewal and maintenance work at a raft of barrages nationwide hit EGP 349 millions, he added.
For his part, Head of Reservoirs Sector Ahmed Karat said the sector has conducted a number of feasibility studies for some projects, including the studies of the strategic plan for establishing and strengthening major hydraulic structures and barrages that reach 150 structures.
