Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy met Wednesday with Mohamed Khairy, the Chairman of Sudan's Multiple Directions Company, to discuss ways to boost trade and establish a strategic partnership.
The meeting also tackled efforts to establish joint meat factories to benefit from the Sudanese meat and export it to African and European countries.
Hanafy said his talks with Khairy took up a plan to import head of cattle from Sudan to be slaughtered in Egypt and then sold at branches of the consumer complexes and Supply Ministry outlets at low prices.
This is done as part of the Ministry's preparations for the Greater Bairam with the aim to secure meat at low price throughout the year, he said.
In return, Egypt should export products of the Food Industries Holding Company (FIHC) to Sudan, the minister added.
