
One person died in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Qena due to the heat wave, currently hitting all Egyptian provinces.
According to Health Ministry Undersecretary in Qena Ayman Khadari, hospitals received six cases suffering from the heatwave Tuesday and 15 on Monday, in addition to the dead patient.
All relevant emergency measures were taken in all hospitals in Qena, Khadari said, warning citizens about direct exposure to sun light.
Within this context, Ahmed Abdellah Mahmoud, 45, a staffer at the Insurance Ministry office in Nage' Hammadi, died after suffering from heat exhaustion.
Egypt is witnessing a heat wave that killed and injured dozens of people with heat exhaustion in the past few days.
