Divers the Environmental Voluntary Foundation (EVF) have continued the hard task of clearing waste and abandoned objects littering the seabed in the country's territorial waters.
Walid Al-Fadhel, the head of the team, told KUNA on Sunday the divers started the first phase of clearing the beach off the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' headquarters, in addition to pursuing the operation to remove the neglected objects at Al-Shemlan bay, adjacent to the main fish market.
Al-Fadhel said the removed items included plastic bags and materials, empty cans, iron and wooden pieces, noting that a large amount of these things had been tossed to the beach by currents.
The foundation will continue the process to remove tons of waste hurting the national marine environment.
