
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal has inaugurated Monday in Bethioua, a new production plant of Liquefied Natural Gas (Train LNG 3), in the industrial zone of petrochemistry of Arzew (Oran).
Alternate to the complex (GL4/Z called "La Camel", the world’s first LNG plant closed in 2010 after 46 years of activity, this new industrial plant, built on land base of 54 hectares should contribute to the development of the capacity of the national production of the natural liquefied gas.
This plant has a production capacity of 4.7 million metric tonnes of LNG, 58,000 tonnes of butane, 275,000 tonnes of propane gas, 300,000 tonnes of ethane, 47,000 tonnes of de gasoline and 115.5 normal cubic meters (Nm3) of helium-enriched gas.
On the social plan, this investment, funded by Sonatrach for $4 billion, i.e. DZD304 billion plans the creation of 645 direct jobs and 250 indirect ones.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Oran coincided with the loading of a LNG carrier with a capacity of 125,000 tonnes.
