
Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza has participated in the 93rd ministerial council meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) in Abu Dhabi .
The meeting, chaired by Iraqi Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, coincides with the Arab Energy Conference.
The agenda included various matters related to the organisation's business, Arab cooperation in the field of energy, approval of the organisation's estimated budget for the year 2015, reviewing OAPEC general secretariat's report for the year 2014, organizing forums and follow-up of environmental and climate change, developing the organisation's databank and website.
The Council reviewed the reports on the activities of Arab companies in 2013 and the first half of 2014 as well as the results of the annual coordinative meeting of the representatives of these companies held in Cairo in October 2014.
The council assigned the Republic of Iraq to oversee the Arab Oil Institute for one year as from 1st January 2015. The council also reappointed the Office of Tariq Al-Ossaimi and Associates as OAPEC's accounts auditor for the year 2015.
The Bahraini delegation comprised the Minister of Energy, Electricity and Water Authority (EWA)'s Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Sheriyan, the Director-General of Strategies and Plans Ali Abdul-Jabbar Al-Sawad, the Director of Policy and Statistics Management Faihan Mohammed Nasser Al-Faihani and Studies Specialist Walaa Mohammed Al-Malki .
