Banha power plant to operate in May

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy has completed the 750-megawatt Banha power plant and the experimental operation will begin in May. Preparations are underway to link the electricity station with the national power grid to prepare for the summer season when electricity consumption reaches its peak, an official source at the electricity and energy sector said Monday. The new plant, whose investments reached 4.2 billion EGP, includes two natural gas units and one steam unit, the source added.
