Egypt welcomes private sector participation in energy projects

Egypt welcomes the participation of private sector in the projects of new and renewable energy in Egypt, said Minister of Electricity and renewable energy Mohamed Shaker.
The remarks were made on Tuesday during a symposium held by the Egyptian embassy in Beijing under the rubric "Egypt's investment policy and the economic situation.
The Egyptian government is providing all necessary facilities, including the allocation of lands, in order to establish such projects, Shaker said.
Egypt is in need of renovation of several power stations, construction of new plants to cover high rates of consumption, he said.
