
An energy and environment conference is set to start hereon Sunday under sponsorship of Minister of Oil and Minister of State for NationalAssembly Affairs Ali Al-Omair.The conference will be co-organized by Kuwait Society of Engineers and Indianengineers working in Kuwait, Eng. Iyad Al-Humoud, the chairman of the society, saidin a press release here on Saturday.During the conference, the participants will discuss a host of issues bearing on thefuture of energy in Kuwait, orientations of energy and environment and relevantadministrative and engineering challenges, he said.The event will feature a specialized exhibition to be organized by a number of local and international oil companies, Al-Humoud added.He added that mega projects launched by oil companies in the country mark agenuine jumping-off for development and revamp of oil infrastructure utilities,leading up to a developed economic base needed by the country for the comingstage.Topics and working papers to be discussed during the event are hoped to give a realpush to research activities for gigantic projects, he pointed out.
