European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle called for the opening of the energy chapter in accession negotiations in Turkey's European Union entry talks. Füle made a written statement to the European Parliament after receiving questions from the members of parliament, in which he said "The Commission thinks thatTurkey is ready to negotiate the energy chapter."Füle also reminded that "not every member of the EU approved the opening of the energy chapter." Füle underlined "Energy" is not among the eight chapters which EU suspended due to the disagreement withTurkey on Turkey's refusal to have trade links with Greek Cypriot administration. There are 35 chapters in total for Turkey to complete negotiations.
