
Dr. Hashim Yamani, President of the Saudi King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and Khaled Touqan, Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, signed here today a nuclear energy cooperation agreement. This came following a meeting held between the two sides where they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field nuclear and renewable energy. The two sides stressed depth of relations between the two countries and highlighted the desire of Saudi Arabia and Jordan to expand cooperation in the field of peaceful uses for nuclear energy. The agreement entails cooperation between the two countries in various fields of nuclear energy, mainly in conducting basic and applied peaceful research related to nuclear energy and technologies, design, construction and operation, power plants and nuclear reactors.
