
President Abdel Fattah el Sisi is scheduled Monday to take part in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) as a keynote speaker, according to a presidential statement.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said Sisi would assert Egypt is deeply interested in the issue of energy and the need for working out mechanisms for the best planning for the future of energy.
The President will confirme the importance of energy as a key component of all development activities, the spokesman said.
He will brief the gathering on Egypt's future vision on alternative energy as well as the Egyptian ambitious plans in the investment field, he added
Sisi will also meet with the chairman of the International Renewable Energy Agency on the sidelines of the summit, he added.
WFES is the Middle East's largest gathering on future energy. More than 30,000 business leaders from 170 countries are expected to attend the 8th round of WFES, which is scheduled to run between Jan. 19 and 22 of, according to the WFES website.
