Iraq's biggest energy power plant, built by Turkey's Calik Holding, has been inaugurated on Friday. The new energy power plant "Al Hayrat" was built in Karbala, and its inauguration ceremony was attended by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Husayn Ibrahim Salih al-Shahristani. Minister al-Shahristani thanked Calik Energy for completing the power plant successfully on time. Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), the CEO of Calik Holding, Ahmet Calik, said that the new power plant in Karbala was highly important for the production of electricity in Iraq and they were pleased to complete such a project successfully. "Al Hayrat energy power plant has a strength of 250 megawatts. It will serve the Iraqi people for decades to come," Calik said. All power plants we built in Iraq will produce 2,000 megawatts of electricity, Calik also said.
