A Chinese merganser swims on the Taizi River, near Shuidong of Benxi, northeast China's Liaoning Province, Dec. 21, 2014. Several mergansers were discovered on the river in this winter after their first appearance here last year. Chinese mergansers, dubbed the "giant pandas" of birds, are endangered bird species under the state class-one protection.
