Bentley's first hybrid concept car was unveiled on Beijing motor show, signalizing the importance of the Chinese market. This luxury car, a new version of flagship Mulsanne, combines petrol and electric-power, and is said to increase the car's power output by a quarter and cuts emissions by 70 percent. Besides, its manufacturer also claimed the system allows the vehicle to drive 48 km entirely on electric power. Bentley also announced on the show that it would introduce a dual-power sports utility vehicle (SUV) in 2017 and 90 percent of the company's vehicles would be available as plug-in hybrids by the end of the decade. "China has always been a key market for Bentley and we have seen an impressive start in the first quarter of 2014 with a 19pc increase in sales", said Ricky Tay, Bentley's China managing director. "Our customer base is growing and we are expanding our dealer network to offer our ultra luxury products and a unique brand experience throughout the region," he added.
