BlueMotion Technology means efficiency, economy and environmental awareness. This all sounds very sensible – but is not in the least bit boring when it comes to the Beetle. Two engines with BlueMotion Technology prove just that: the 1.2 l TSI* and the 1.6 l TDI**, both delivering 77 kW (105 hp) and outstanding performance along with remarkably low fuel consumption: the petrol engine requires an average of only 5.6 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres and the TDI consumes a mere 4.3 litres of diesel fuel. This is partly due to the start-stop system with brake energy recovery and the low-resistance tyres. The TSI engine is available in conjunction with the 6-speed manual gearbox; for the TDI, there is a choice between the 5-speed manual gearbox and the extremely comfortable 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Always provided as standard: uncompromising driving pleasure. From:motoring
