Every year, March Madness® inspires a new chapter of surprising team and student-athlete performances that defy expectations and beliefs of what is possible, much like the redesigned-for-2014 Buick Regal and Regal GS. To highlight both throughout the 2014 NCAA college basketball tournament, Buick is supporting the NCAA and Surprising Performances Everywhere initiative. Along the road to the Final Four® and NCAA Division I Championship Game, Buick will sponsor an in-studio breakdown and highlight of that day’s most “Surprising Performances” during the “Inside March Madness presented by Buick” post-game show on TBS and truTV. Features of the Regal – including its sleek design and advance technologies – combine to deliver a level of performance and excitement unexpected for a midsize luxury sedan. “The Regal is performance-oriented,” said Sandra Moore, Buick marketing director. “With a standard 259-horsepower turbocharged engine, the all-weather traction of available all-wheel-drive, refined ride and quiet interior, it’s sure to surprise many – just like eventful moments of March Madness.” Fans attending the NCAA championship in North Texas are encouraged to visit the Buick display inside of Bracket Town™ presented by Capital One, which features Buick’s full product line with a spotlight on the Regal GS. At the display, fans can also participate in the Regal Surprising Performances Challenge to set their best time in a basketball skills challenge, in which the top times will be posted on a scoreboard inside the display. Fans finish the challenge with a drive to the basket, and through the use of time-splice photography and camera perspective, their drive will look like they are going up to the basket. The photo will be instantly downloadable and sharable through social media. Even fans not able to attend the tournament can take part in the March Madness action with a Buick-sponsored printable NCAA bracket. Source: GM
