California DMV computers down statewide

California's Department of Motor Vehicles experienced a statewide computer outage Tuesday that disrupted in-person services, officials said. "DMV is currently experiencing technical difficulties that may affect customer transactions. We appreciate your patience," the agency tweeted Tuesday morning. DMV spokeswoman Jessica Gonzalez told the Los Angeles Times online services were not affected, but the agency did not know how long the in-office problems would last. "Anything we don't need a computer for, we're doing," Gonzalez said.
