In its relatively short time on this planet, the Dodge/SRT Viper has made a significant impact on the global sports car scene. As both a road and race car, the Viper has helped to further establish America's standing in the automotive performance world. From the moment the concept was revealed in 1989, the Viper was truly one of a kind. At a time when Chrysler was suffering from lack of good product (minivans don't count) and quality issues, the Viper was clearly the stand out star. Now that the new 2013 SRT Viper has had its official debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show, Chrysler produced this video looking back on their beloved V10 sports car and how it's evolved and prospered since its 1992 production launch. It's great to see old, yet always welcome faces such as Carroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca discuss the car and how it came to be. Going into its third decade of existence, the Viper continues to always make its presence known and is more prepared than ever to take on the best sports car across the globe.
