General Motors is recalling 1.45 million vehicles due to potential safety issues. China’s product quality agency said the recall affects Buick and Chevrolet models produced between 2006 and 2011 due to fuel pump issues. With the recall affecting 1.2 million Buick models and 240,000 Chevrolet models, GM will start taking in cars as of December 30. If brackets securing the fuel pumps are not replaced, they might crack and cause a fuel leak, the Administration for Quality Supervision said in a statement. Elements that do no meet safety standards will be replaced with new parts free of charge.
