500 Group in conjunction with the GrabCAD team has organized the Supercar Body Challenge, a competition that aims to find a car body design for a supercar currently undergoing testing in the UK and scheduled for launch in 2013.Entries have stopped being accepted, but the 192 designs that were submitted can still be voted on for another two weeks. The winners of the competition, split into two challenges, will be chosen based on the number of 'likes' the contestant models receive. The full lineup can be found at the GrabCAD community site, where votes can be made. The supercar itself is developed under a GM special-projects supply agreement using GM performance parts hardware, and featuring the GM V8 line of E-Rod LS3, LS7 and the awesome 638hp supercharged LS9 engines.Prizes on offer include $3,500 in cash and the chance of work and invitations to select test locations in Europe, North Africa and the USA. Significantly, the competition gives aspiring designers the chance to create a new car.
