Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd targets to achieve sales of 46,500 units this year, 31 per cent higher than last year's 32,482 units. Its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yoichiro Ueno said the target was based on the continuity of buyers sentiment and exciting line-up of new models for both regular and hybrid vehicles in the pipeline. "We estimate the total industry volume (TIV) to reach more than 618,000 units and are targeting to achieve 7.5 per cent of the projected TIV," he told reporters at a Honda media gathering here Friday. Ueno also announced that Honda Malaysia's manufacturing plant in Melaka will resume production on March 20 and will fully recover its production of 180 cars per day by end-April. Honda Malaysia has also just completed the construction of its RM50 million new warehouse in January this year.
