
Hyundai Motor, South Korea's No.1 automaker, posted 2.06 trillion won (1.87 billion U.S. dollars) in operating profit for the third quarter, a regulatory filing showed Thursday. Consolidated operating profit, which includes profits from overseas affiliates, reached 20.6 trillion won during the July- September period, up 3.1 percent from a year earlier, according to the regulatory filing. From three months before, the profit was down 17.8 percent. Sales increased 3.6 percent on-year to 19.65 trillion won in the three months ending Sept. 30, and net income amounted to 2.17 trillion won, up 12.9 percent from the same period of last year.
