Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is all set to add an extra dash of glamour to the racing world. The 44-year-old blonde bombshell has floated her own racing team called Downforce1 that will participate in the European Le Mans and International GT Open championship. Her ambitions don’t stop here. Anderson has lofty dreams of launching a team for NASCAR, America’s biggest motorsport series, by 2013. "Fast cars and fast women go together," Anderson is quoted as saying by a UK tabloid. "Here we are surrounded by men, I love it." Downforce1 was to kickoff its 2012 race campaign this weekend at the International GT Race in France but had to postpone its plans citing ‘technical issues’. The team will now race for the first time at the GT Open Series round at Portimao on April 28. So what kind of racing credentials does Downforce1 bring? Anderson claims the team has over a decade of racing experience and was built up in just four months flat! It will compete using an Aston Martin GT2 adorning a white and blue livery, which according to Pam is her ‘signature colour’. Markus Fux, the team coordinator, chief marketing officer, and racer all rolled into one, has been named the lead driver of the team. Aside from a surname that leaves nothing to imagination, the Austrian is apparently the first from his country to drive in NASCAR. From racy outfits to racing overalls, Anderson will surely make race days something more to look forward to. “I'm thrilled to be a part of this incredible racing team - it will be a wild ride...” says Anderson on the team’s website. Anderson is not the only female celebrity to have a racing team under her name. In 2010, socialite Paris Hilton co-founded the 125cc SuperMartxe Vip MotoGP team, which, by the way, came third at the 2011 championship. Will Pammie's team go boom or bust?
