Renault will enter the crossover market with its version of the Nissan Juke and plans to follow it with at least two cars based on the R-Space ‘sporty MPV’ concept shown at the 2011 Geneva motor show. The Juke alternative will take styling cues from the Captur concept, also shown at Geneva last year, and is due to arrive next year. Buoyed by the positive response to the R-Space, Renault thinks the concept could spawn two road cars. One could be the next iteration of the Scénic. The other would be “something a bit more sturdy, with genuine off-road capability”, said Renault’s Stephen Norman. That vehicle could take the place of the Koleos, which will be six years old when the new car appears in 2014.
